Nudist All Male Beauty Pageant Countdown - 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

One of my favorite components of vintage nudist magazines is the all male beauty pageant, so today I'm doing a countdown of my favorites by the numbers.  We start with a colorful image of a quintet.

  1. A delightful image. Five boy next door types, in their natural states having a fun contest in the sunshine.

  2. 10S 10s10S across the bods ---bodies u q wiener --- winner baby

  3. I was a member of Glen Eden Nudist Club in the early 1980s. They have a library onsite with many of these great old nudist magazines from the 1950s and 1960s. My father had a small collection of them I came across when I was sent out to clean the garage. I read every single one with envy. I promised myself that I would go to some of these places when I grew up, and I did. I moved to California to do just that in the 1981.

    1. Nice story, Grant! I think it's important to give the nudist movement credit on a number of levels. First, they steadfastly insisted and demonstrated for decades that nudity was not automatically sexual or pornographic. Second, their publications helped expand freedom of expression in the same way. And finally, they began the process of body type acceptance by including and even sometimes celebrating those with bodies that weren't always young or "perfect specimens." Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that they were the first heterosexual outlets to feature full male nudity. We owe them a lot.
