William Etty (1787-1849) was a talented English painter who scandalized the British art world during the period of 1815-1845 by graphically and accurately painting both male and female nudes. Of course, it was the males that were more often described as immoral, and I've featured those nudes both here on Blogger and on my old tumblr. Today, I am posting some of his semi-nudes just to show yet again that one doesn't have to show everything to create an attractive and sexy image of a man. So that's todays theme, but first, here is a self portrait of the artist at work painting.
Jerry, j'avais déjà vu quelques oeuvres de ce peintre sur un site malheureusement disparu. Le 'Museo Gayo' était un site espagnol qui montrait tout ce qui se faisait en art sur le nu masculin en dessin , peinture, sculture.. Je regrette vraiment ce site, un des plus beaux que j'ai eu l'occasion de voir sur Internet. Il y avait plusieurs milliers d'oeuvres présentées. Brusquement ce site a disparu, la censure peut-être ou un dégoût du webmaster, je n'en ai plus jamais entendu parler et il a même disparu des moteurs de recherche...

Jerry, I had already seen some works of this painter on a site unfortunately disappeared. The 'Museo Gayo' was a Spanish site that showed everything that was done in art on the male nude in drawing, painting, sculpture .. I really regret this site, one of the most beautiful that I had the opportunity to see on the Internet. There were several thousand works presented. Suddenly this site has disappeared, censorship maybe or a disgust of the webmaster, I have never heard of it again and it has even disappeared from the search engines ...
