This guy is playing badminton, a sport that I learned is popular in Indonesia when I spent a lot of time there in the 90's. My partner Bear and I also came across a band of political dissidents who were hiding out from the army in the botanical gardens. They were nice fellows who shared some bananas with us and told us they were fans of Bill Clinton, Coca Cola, and Nirvana.
Badminton is popular in Malaysia, too, where I lived for awhile. But I never saw anyone playing it with his gear flying free. Do you think this shot was snapped by a professional photographer?
ReplyDeleteHard to tell. It was definitely someone who knew how to use the right speed film for sure. I knew talented amateurs back then in high school who could do that.
DeleteBadminton not usually played outdoors due to wind. I played it nude a few years ago. Great fun.

ReplyDeleteOh, yes. We both worked for an international company and did business in 17 countries. Indonesia was tame compared to Myanmar.
