Bob Mizer boasted in one of his promotional pieces in Physique Pictorial that AMG
had taken over 400 photos of Bud Counts, and I believe it. This triple composite is from
an AMG session that used some elaborate props. Bud also did a lot of work for Bruce of LA
and Dave Martin, both of whose work is prominently featured in today's series.
The props Mizer used, like the elaborate podium in this photo,
ReplyDeletemay have come from one the old mansions that were being torn down in the 40's and 50's (when the city of Los Angeles rezoned some areas of the city for commercial use). Relatives who lived there at the time said you could go to auctions and fire-sales, when these homes were being torn down and get some great deals. Also, furniture and furnishings would be left at the curb
for free pickings!
