Thanks to Larry K., I have a large number of great photos in my collection that I would never have found on my own. So it's time to share some more, and today they'll all be French military men. As you will see, goofing around naked in the barracks was fairly common. What I can't figure out about this particular photo, however, is why they are all standing on someone's bed. Oh, well. I can't imagine the US armed forces allowing anything like this, but I was never in the military, I can't say with 100% certainty.

DeleteOh, it definitely has happened in the US armed services. Click on the military label at right, and you'll see some. They're still doing it today, too.
DeleteSwinging began in the military as well. But arguably that goes all the way back to Lycurgus.
DeleteIn theory, all adult French males did national military service and stripping off for the camera was nearly a rite of passage. Military service has now been abolished and so I don't know if, in a professional army, the tradition persists.
