I sometimes focus on the odd bits in vintage photos. In this handsome shot of Larry Carr by Bob Mizer of AMG, he is seated on a 1950-ish round double decked end or coffee table. (My great grandmother had one like it.) His feet are resting on the ball of each foot with the heels off the floor. I think Mizer may have posed him that way to keep his legs more parallel to the floor. That would be practical if Larry weren't wearing a posing strap, as that the position would keep the crotch covered, so it must have been for some aesthetic reason. Either way, it's a great picture.
I really like the lighting here. His pecs and abs are showcased perfectly. And damn, he was a handsome sunuvabitch!
ReplyDeleteThe lighting and Larry are both indeed excellent.
