Odd position

There are only one or two other photos of this model in my collection, and this
one is by far the best of them.  He looks like he's holding a staff behind his back.

  1. Most of these poses are a bit odd. Is Lalaing the only one who put his models in such strange poses? I also noticed a lack of shadow or light/dark contrast in all of them except the last one where the male's hand is a bit shadowed.

    1. The positions are indeed different from the generic types seen in the published sets of study photos for artists. My guess is that these were made with specific sculptures in mind.

  2. A moment captured. I can almost feel the draught as he evocative.
