Anatomical?
This photo was left over from my recent series on anatomical studies
only because I had no reference at all for it being such. I think it might
well be one because of the way the muscles are shown.
One of the things I like about the model choices of the photographers of this era is the "everyman" look. At a time when a large portion of the male population did physical labor of various sorts, we tend to see a lot of nicely, but not overly, developed men. I wonder what they would think if they knew we still marvel at them today.
Yes, lots of "Everyman" models. Earning a bit of extra, much-needed cash. Being within the era of famous strong men, I'd like to think that they would be proud of their modelling work. And that they would be pleased that we still admire them.
As ever, one wonders what this guy's job was to develop such a splendid physique.
