John

I don't know if he's pretending to be a cat or pretending to do a pullup, but
John Tattos is definitely in playful mode here.  The hair is a bit over the top.

  1. All the hair is over the top - compared with today's fashions. If Brown is a recession colour and women's skirt lengths are an indicator of boom and bust, men's hair length seems to be very closely linked to social attitudes, long being the fashion during periods of libertarianism and individual freedom and short in vogue during spells of social conservatism and collective uniformity and conformity. The ultimate example of this are the Roundheads and Cavaliers in the English civil war. The 1970s and '80s were a time when the revolution of the 1960s bore its fruit. What fills me with anxiety for the future is that men's hair has now been very short for over a decade - and getting shorter. There are a few glimmers of hope. Not everyone knows that after a 33 year gap, Brian May, guitarist with the group Queen, submitted his doctoral thesis (A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud) at Imperial College. Dr May appeared on The Sky At Night (the longest running BBC programme hosted by Sir Patrick Moore to whom he was extremely kind), where the Astronomer Royal, Martin Rees, told Brian May "I don't know a scientist who looks as much like Sir Isaac Newton as you do."

    1. Lots of guys in my neighborhood started wearing their hair long during the pandemic. Afraid to go to the barber.
