This image of Peter Rann is not yet another example of John Paignton Barrington's sloppy quality issues. In this case, he did a tintype, an early and primitive photo technique. And no, I don't know
if he actually did this using the original methods or simply manipulated a modern process.
Technically poor, but a nice model in anice pose. Too bad we can't see him better.
ReplyDeleteI have eight photos of Peter Ran(n). Seven of them appear to be from the same session as this one. The quality of them all is way better than this, so presumably the effect is a "post-production" one (for want of a better term. I'll send you my copies.
