2 X 2 = 4 = Andy Warhol

In keeping with the broader format of the blog, I'm posting some Andy Warhol today.
I don't know if it was a phase, or something that he kept up throughout his career,
but he had a thing for using four panels of the same image in a square.  In some
cases, they would be overlayed with color or otherwise manipulated, but in today's
male nudes, they seem to be unaltered.  Remember those shoes?

  1. The more I look at this, the more I doubt that all four are identical. That is the case with all these. I know they are identical, but maybe, I'm seeing repetition as rhythm. Thank you for this series, Jerry. Warhol is a nice surprise.

    1. You're welcome, Leroy, and I keep wondering the same thing. Maybe that's the point . . . to make us think about whether they are identical or not.
