Musical
In a holdover from the Wandervogel days, FKK types were prone
to go marching across the countryside playing instruments and singing.
How wonderfully civilized. But I'm afraid it reminds me of The Tale of Sir Robin from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
The Tale of Sir Robin So each of the knights went their separate ways Sir Robin rode north, through the dark forest of Ewing Accompanied by his favorite minstrels
Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot He was not afraid to die, oh Brave Sir Robin He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin
Neil Innes (1944-2019), Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
I'll leave the rest of the lyrics as they get wonderfully uncivilized.
I visited Doune Castle in Scotland ten years ago, and they had Terry Jones narrate the audio guide because they filmed a good chunk of that movie there. I don't usually like audio guides, but had to listen to that one. Hilarious!
How apt. Terry Jones made his directorial debut with The Holy Grail. Although he graduated from Oxford in English, he became interested in the Mediaeval period through studying Chaucer. He was a published author and respected TV guest on the Middle Ages.
