After World War II it took a while for the men's swimsuit industry to get cranking. By the time this 1948 photo was made, prints were a big thing, followed soon after by some Dorothy Lamour inspired atrocities sold via mail order by Michigan model Glenn Bishop and his friend Richard Alan.
I won't be posting any of the latter today, but they're easy enough to look up.
