Andrew Carnegie


One of the world's first multi-millionaires, Scottish born Andrew Carnegie gave away hundreds of millions of dollars to charities and educational instutions.  Spending $50,000 per year on himself, he built over 3,000 public libraries, a major university, several hospitals and much, much more.

  1. As a retired Librarian with 30.years experience, thank you for posting this. I retired 8 years ago and stayed in Southwest Texas. My wife now deceased was a San Antonio native.
