Our only painting of the day by a female is this one by Daphne Pollen from about 1923. A graduate of the Slade School of Art, she was better known as a muralist. Sadly, two of her better works were destroyed when they were bombed during the Blitz, and others lost to later demolition before stricter preservation regulations came into force.
