1950s

Someone needs to polish their Spanish skills because this 1950s drawing by Elives Casa is labeled El Boca.  Boca is feminine in Spanish and should be La Boca.  It is possible, however, that the error in gender was meant as some sort of artistic statement by Case, as opposed to a curation error.

  1. Well, "la boca" is the mouth, BUT if his nickname was "boca" (maybe as 'big mouth'? -see the lips in the drawing-). Then referring to him by his spanish nickname is "El Boca".

Joe E. Brown, the actor from "Some like it Hot" was known in Spanish by his nickname 'Bocazas' - 'Big Mouth'. So referring to him as "El Bocazas" is grammatically correct.

By the way, on the gay movie "Trick" there is a song "Como te gusta mi pinga" (How you like my cock") where pinga is one of the spanish slang for penis, dick, cock.
"Pinga" is female - "La Pinga"
BUT if you have a really big "pinga" - let's say 8 to 10 inches, probably you will get as a nickname "El pingú": The one with a big dick.
When I was 13, I had the longest dick in our circle jerk group, 7 1/4 inches and my nickname was "El pingú del grupo" - The one with the biggest dick.

    Spanish is my mother language.

    2. Thanks for the help with the Spanish. I am reasonably fluent in the Mexican dialect, and once filled in for a Spanish tour guide at a temple in Thailand. When it was over, a lady from Seville told me, "I don't mean to offend, but you have the cutest Mexican accent." I told her I was "halagado" that she would say that.
