In case anyone has forgotten, Bruce Bellas made good money for a time photographing bodybuilders for G-rated publicity shots and magazines. That's Steve Reeves at left in the group,
but I don't have names for the other men shown here.
For the trio in the right picture, I have a newspaper clipping photo of this exact pic, describing them as the "three top men in the 'Mr. U.S.A.' contest: Steve Reeves, John Grimek, and Clarence Ross." A photographer by the name of Mahalic. No date is given, and the newspaper was not identified. I'm guessing that Mahalic was a photographer for the newspaper, I've never heard of him before.
I have to admit that I was surprised to see the middle bodybuilder identified as Grimek. I guess I always imagined him as being taller. My initial reaction was that he was George Eiferman, a fellow competitor of Reeves in that era. But not so.
Thanks for the information! The photo of the trio was for sale on line as by Bruce, so I hope someone didn't pay a lot for it. Something tells me that Mahalic's work isn't quite as sought after as that of Bruce.
