Jaybird smoker
One of the odder 1960s nudist magazines was an outfit called "Jaybirding,"
as in "naked as a jaybird." They even had articles on the jaybird lifestyle.
This photo of a man smoking came from on of their issues.
You make a good point about nudism promoting healthy lifestyles. Even though it was already known that smoking was harmful, the anti-smoking movement didn't really get going until the Surgeon General's Report of 1964. This photo was made around that time, probably a year or two later. Obviously, this guy didn't get the message, and almost 60 years later some people still smoke.
Kind of weird to have smokers when it had already been known for a couple decades how dangerous smoking was, and nudists are generally health nuts.
