When I stopped to look at this sculpture, I wondered what a Roman was doing in the Renaissance section of the Capitoline. It turned out to be from 1495 and of Marco Antonio Colonna, a prince from Salerno who was depicted as a high ranking Roman military officer.
Seems there was a lot of interest in the Roman’s during the renaissance. (Only found that out looking up one of the other pieces you posted today from 300 ad that was put in the Vatican in the 1500s. ). Yes, you had some of us doing research. Ha
