Jim Smith
This is Jim Smith by Rip Searby. He only seems tanned from the crotch down, but it works.
The more of Mr. Searby's work I see, the less I understand why he isn't better known.
I just realized that he may have worked as a lifeguard. Some recreation departments at the time required them to wear t-shirts, and they often sat under umbrellas with their legs exposed to the sun.
Lifeguard. ...not to mention tank tops. Shoulders/arms heads under umbrella...makes sense. -The Navy Seabees (cb's) worked shirtless in Sicily developing deep tans. I saw a few waist down white as a ghost. Mentioning it to a female who admittedly was swooning over their tans. I told her "Don't believe me? Date one." She told me later he got mad when she laughed.
Nice! What's with the "1920s" hair? I wonder how hi managed that lower body tan. And you can't tell for sure if his peter is tanned....

DeleteDepends on if you were indoor or outdoor. YMCA lifeguards just went naked (and wouldn't tan) but outdoor pools required a lot of clothes.
