George Paine

When we talk about pioneers of racial equality in physique photography, Alonzo Hanagan, aka Lon of New York, goes right to the top of the list.  Starting in the late 1930s, he began to take pictures of black men, portraying them in exactly the same dignified way he did whites.  He also recruited Latino models, doing some of his best work with them.  Above we see George Paine.
