Prague, 1938

I like the way the men are  holding hands in this Czech poster from 1938.
Only a few months later, the Czechs were sold out by the Western Allies.

  1. Poster of the Czech Sokol athletic and patriotic movement for their tenth slet (mass gymnastics display) held at the massive Strahov stadium in Prague. Founded in 1862, Sokol means falcon in Czech, and the movement spread to Poland, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Ukraine as a form of Pan-Slavic unity. Sokol clubs were also formed by Czech immigrants in America. Today the Sokol is a shell of its former self….:)

    1. Sad. An insanely devestating war and 45 years of communism will do that.
