Bert and Alan

Leopard print brief trunks must have been in style that year.
Both posed unadorned for different physique photographers. Stephan, who trained sea-bees in hand-to-hand combat in Ww2, was recruited to work as an artists model for the US Navy’s public relations dept. In June 1939 Goodrich won the America’s Finest Physique contest, the first AAU Mr America was Roland Essmaker in July 1939. Goodrich later owned a very successful celebrity gym in Hollywood….:)
They would have been right at home in the Mae West show.
