I found this Barrington semi-nude on an art photo sales website labeled only "Mark."  It really seems odd that Barrington would put so much effort into expertly posing and lighting his models, only to often leave the clutter of stands, wires, and lights on the periphery.  I keep looking for cropped or clean versions of these great photos, but I don't find them.  I guess they were meant to be that way.

  1. I find Barrington's techniques, particularly including props and lighting equipment in the shot, as a distinctive feature of his work. Likely, this may help folks like you attribute anonymous photos to him. To each, his own....

    1. It's been almost four years since I posted this photo, and during that time I've come across other photographers, including the highly regarded Pat Milo, who produced similar "cluttered" work. So yes, it can be an artistic statement. In Barrington's case, things are complicated by the fact that he was notorious for his sloppy developing and printing processes, making it easy to believe (perhaps incorrectly) that this was just more carelessness.
