Many of you will instantly recognize Don Deckman.  When I gave him his own series a while back, several of you positively swooned.  Even in a posing strap, he is quite amazing.  Some of Mr. Deckman's work was done with Lyle Frisby's associate (and possible lover) Pat Milo, so there is sometimes more than one photographer attribution for the same photo.  Adding to the confusion is the fact that Mr. Milo published some of Mr. Frisby's work after his untimely death.  I do have confidence, however, that this one is by Lyle.

  1. I find the lighting here to be perfect. Of course, it would be impossible to have a bad shot of Deckman.

  2. I'm one of those viewers that has been known to swoon over Mr. Deckman. Big Dude is spot on - it's impossible to have a bad photo of him. I recall from an earlier posting that you found some limited biographical details in the wake of Mr. Deckman's death and it sounded as though he was a nice guy.

    1. Peter, you are correct about the biographical info portraying a nice fellow. I don't really have enough facts to do a full "whatever happened to" series, but I may do another series anyway.

  3. I would hazard a guess that it is in fact the posing strap that ADDS a certain eroticism to the photograph, quite contrary to the censor's intent, in what otherwise would just have been just a male nude study. Certainly in the way Mr Deckman manages to wear it. Sometimes less is more. Up yours, Anita Bryant!
