Ray
I posted this Vince of Londoy photo of Ray Swales a year and a half ago in a miscellaneous
British series, but I couldn't resist a repeat. I think he's simply beautiful.
Mr Swales is wearing what I have always called the "modesty trunks" demanded by the times, although dressing upward, he still manages to defeat their purpose to great effect. I wonder if that was at Mr Green's instigation.
Vince of London clearly worked with the models on the bona fide bodybuilder circuit, but still managed to squeeze some eroticism out of routine poses in the same way as Bruce Bellas. This was of course in the days before the bodybuilding world and that of gay erotic photography went their separate ways.
I have no doubt that the upward arrangement was at least encouraged, if not instigated, by Mr. Green. The comparison to Bruce Bellas is quite apt, imo.
I don't think I've come across Vince if London before. I can only thank you for your excellent detective work on the British Beef posts this week and for the many excellent new (to me) photos you've found. Today's series has been a particular highlight. The models and the photographs of are both top rate. You mentioned that there were no full frontals today but to be honest with models this good it really doesn't matter and in some ways actually adds to the appeal of the photos. Thanks again.
Peter, I'm going to sound like a broken record, but "sometimes less is more." Eroticism can be more impactful at times when it is more subtle than in your face. I've had young viewers who grew up in the deluge of modern crass porn write and say that they find photos of this type to be exciting in a way they never imagined before.
It was a great pleasure to put this series together, and I want to thank you for your consistent participation and support.

DeleteBoth sartorially as well as photographically, that has been a most interesting and enjoyable series. Thank you, Jerry.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome, Julian, and thank you for your well informed comments.
DeleteI agree, Jerry. Mr. Swales is simply beautiful.
