Kris

Chuck Renslow of Kris Studio was a groundbreaker for freedom of expression, a gay rights pioneer, and a damn fine photographer.  I chose this image to give a nod to another area in which Mr. Renslow took the lead, leather.  The model is Gary Price, and the jockstrap is a bonus.

  1. It appalls me that jocks are so expensive now that they are a "fashion" item. Back in the day, you could get one for two bucks. I saw on line Bike jocks going for $25.

    1. I think I paid $5.95 for the last one I bought, but it was about two decades ago. I've worn it so seldom that it's still in the drawer in relatively good condition.

  2. To my chagrin, I have never, ever, been able to identify the jockstrap brand in this image. Kris Studios are my first port of call once I get the fluid link and the Tardis is once again up and running. I would suggest a lesser known manufacturer which narrows the field as most did not do a jogger/swimmer jock.

    1. Let me know when you get the Tardis running again. I want to go along for the ride.

  3. Many years ago I read an interview with Mr. Renslow. He was asked about several of his models but, when he was asked about Gary, he said he didn't recall anything about him. Pity. Gary really floated my boat.

    1. It's a shame that only a few of the great physique photographers kept notes on their models. Of course, Mizer's musings on his are classic, and Dave Martin did keep a card file on a good many of his. Most, however, went unrecorded.
