And now that moment in history

This is the image that made Canadian Paul Andrews a figure in the history of free
expression in the USA.  While it wasn't one of those instances where a single legal case
overturned an entire system of law, it was part of a group of cases that made distributing
male frontal nudes legal.  The uncropped original version is shown below.
My deepest appreciation goes out to Cambria for providing todays photos.

    1. And that makes the court's decision even more amazing. How could they not notice?

  2. IIRC, In the times these were published, Canada seized these kind of mags and they were not legal in Canada for a long time after the U.S. courts ruled on nudity-Dee Exx

    1. I don't know when Canada liberalized, but you're quite correct about such photos being illegal there for a very long time.

  4. Wonderful photos and history. As I recall it was still illegal to bring any kind of erotica, hardcore or otherwise into Canada through the 1970's. Many tried including myself. Fortunately I was never stopped. At the time I thought it was ridiculous that I should have to "sneak" nude magazines into the country. I sometimes worry that the climate of today is going to send us back to an oppressive time.

    1. I share you're concern, Pat. You are fortunate in that Canada has become a more tolerant country than the USA in many ways.

    2. We are fortunate, for the time being. Sad to say the sands are shifting here as well.
