At last

I've held off posting this beautiful photo because I didn't know anything about it.  Turns out to be by Arthur Tress, an edgy photographer whose early work has appeared here before.  I would not have guessed that, but several reputable sources confirm it.  The Arabian horse is magnificent.

  1. This doesn't look like an unadulterated photograph. It looks like the picture of the man and the picture of the horse were pasted on the picture of a forest background. The horse is standing with it's rear legs in a VERY unnatural position.

    1. Horses can and will get into that position, usually with some help, and only when the horse is very comfortable with the handler.

    2. I think the horse and the man were both caught slightly in motion. That could easily cause this position of the horses legs and the man’s also. It’s all seems so surreal. Nice photo.

  2. "Groom and White Arabian" is actually a little late for you (1996), but it is a wonderful image. Your version is also cropped a bit on the top and left side, but for the purposes of this blog, the important parts are still there! Nice collection today!

  3. Definitely Arthur Tress. It's one of my favourite images by him. I believe I have a higher quality version in one of the Tress books I own.
