I've held off posting this beautiful photo because I didn't know anything about it. Turns out to be by Arthur Tress, an edgy photographer whose early work has appeared here before. I would not have guessed that, but several reputable sources confirm it. The Arabian horse is magnificent.
What a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteThis doesn't look like an unadulterated photograph. It looks like the picture of the man and the picture of the horse were pasted on the picture of a forest background. The horse is standing with it's rear legs in a VERY unnatural position.
ReplyDeleteHorses can and will get into that position, usually with some help, and only when the horse is very comfortable with the handler.
Delete"Groom and White Arabian" is actually a little late for you (1996), but it is a wonderful image. Your version is also cropped a bit on the top and left side, but for the purposes of this blog, the important parts are still there! Nice collection today!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom!
DeleteDefinitely Arthur Tress. It's one of my favourite images by him. I believe I have a higher quality version in one of the Tress books I own.
ReplyDeleteThat book must be a real treat! Thanks for posting.
