Jack Fontan

We're more accustomed to seeing Jack Fontan without his clothes,
but he still looks good with them on.  This if from 1954.

  1. Marlon Brando wore THAT T-shirt three years earlier in Tennessee Williams's A Street Car Named Desire, and here the style resurfaces at the hands of Platt Lynes, as equally as experienced as Elia Kazan, who directed the movie. From a European perspective, it cannot be laboured enough just how foreign and American this T-shirt was to the European eye... The British did not wear them at all at that time - they were undershirts, or what we called "vests" and the only time they saw the light of day was, just perhaps, in some sports.
