Another unknown
I feel like I've seen this unidentified Lynes model before and should know him. Anyone?
This is indeed a brilliant image but one wonders and must ask what it is about its composition that makes it so. I wonder what the high chair was in fact designed for. The angle of the legs would presumably preclude a bar stool, yet it seems to have some ergonomic purpose. But I think it's its long legs that shadow and complement those of the elegant model. So, is this art imitating life or life imitating art? Perhaps Oscar Wilde will let us know.
Lynes' work is so remarkable that anything I could say would just be redundant and inadequate. Thanks for a terrific posting, Jerry.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, B.D.!

ReplyDeleteWhatever it was designed for, it shows off the model beautifully.
DeleteI have looked into my files and found that his name is William Christian Miller.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brian! Bill Miller just showed up in my files when I did a search, and that's him.
DeleteAlways wonderful to see Lynes' work. Thank you Jerry!
