Whose is it?

I saved what may be the best for last.  This photo has been attributed at various times to von Pluschow, Galdi, and von Gloeden.  I'm inclined to go with von Gloeden.

  2. Wow, I got to learn a lot looking up the work of those three photographers. I knew a fair amount about von Pluschow and a good amount about von Gloeden. Was amazed by the career/ photos by Galdi. Really incredible. Also was good to see more of the works of von Pluschow and Von Gloeden and to learn they didn’t just photograph the young (which both are known for) but also shot photos of adults quite well.
This is a rather intense photo from that era. Striking and unique. So muscular also. Great definition. The black background stands out and works well here.
    Thank you.

  3. Did you ever see a photo by Galdi of three men- two are facing front but the man in the middle is facing away from the camera with his arms in the shoulders of the other men. From 1918 but the two men on the right look like they could be from the 1970s. And the one guys facial hair could be from Brooklyn in 2010

  4. I must say that those three photographers rate VERY high on my list and I very much like their photographs of youth. Unfortunately these fellows had quite a lot of trouble with the law over their interests. And they DID make nice photographs of lots of other things besides naked youth.

    1. The legal issues for the two Germans were mostly for not keeping their hands off the models, or so I've read. Galdi did have censorship problems.
