As many of you know by now, I have a thing for Hadrian. The statue above shows him depicted as Pontifex Maximus in a formal toga with some symbols of office. To me, the remarkable thing here is how the sculptor managed to have a fine male from show through the beautifully shaped draping.
Below, we see a bust that I unexpectedly found in stray corner showing a mature Hadrian.
