Oliver Reed

Known for his drunken ravings on the Johnnie Carson Show, Oliver Reed was a very good actor who appeared in dozens of films.  No one will ever forget the wrestling scene in Women in Love.
When I saw this photo, I immediately blasted out Quinn the Eskimo on my stereo.

  1. A really good actor, to bad booze got the better of him. I had a major thing for him and Alan Bates after seeing that film.

    1. The boozing took its toll, but he didn't really let it get in the way of doing his job. He was legendary for showing up on time at movie sets after a night of serious boozing, ready to perform and looking surprisingly good. He managed to get roles right up to the end, having died in the middle of filming The Gladiator with Russell Crowe.

    2. A friend of mine met him in a bar in London in the early 90's and he was warm and jovial. Sadly, the drinking had taken a toll on his looks. That was hard to see he said.
