George O'Brien was able to convincingly play working men well into his 40's. Above, he is shown in a scene as a miner from Hard Rock Harrigan. Below, he is doing construction, something that had meaning in his real life experiences. Mr. O'Brien re-enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 43 early in World War II. He was put to work as a beachmaster, which involved making newly captured amphibious landing sites suitable for unloading supplies and men until ports were available.

DeleteA lovely tribute to an extraordinary gentlemen Jerry! I have admiration for George who lived his life to the fullest and just got better with age. As these last two photos show the man was hot!
