Cleanup Crew
This dishwashing crew does not appear to have been from the same dinner party
as shown in an earlier shot in today's set. They look like a great bunch of guys.
The only men here in Hawaii who wear suits are lawyers and funeral directors, and not all of them wear them. I spent an extended business trip in Europe in the early 2000s, and I never had to wear a coat and tie for business meetings. I made some friends and was invited to dinner parties where I was happy to dress up. It was special and fun.
The way you dressed and your appearance was everything until the 1970’s when casual and comfortable clothing became popular and people became less judgemental.
Before my time; I was a kid in the 70s. Did people really dress so formally then?
ReplyDeleteYes, they did, and there's something to be said for it.
DeleteYes. Suits and ties were the norm. Though be aware, temperatures were cooler back then as well.
