Teddy Roosevelt died in his sleep in 1919 at age 60, with one obesrver saying, "Death had to take him in his sleep, for if he had been awake, there would have been a fight." Politically active right up until the end, many of his former opponents attended his funeral out of deep respect. In times like these, where are the people like this amazing man? I guess they only made one.

DeleteProgressive Republicans from Teddy Roosevelt and Robert La Follette to John Lindsay and Nelson Rockefeller, end up either denounced and derided or pushed out of the Republican party by more conservative and extremist elements. Ted would be a RINO in todays mess of a Republican party….:(

DeleteA very good post today about one of our best presidents. Of course he sometimes got us involved in things that the United States had no business in, but compared to recent political leaders he outshined them all.
