A full year on Google Blogger

The year after tumblr

Well, it's been a full year since many of us, myself included, deleted our tumblr accounts and sought greener pastures.  In my case, the new blog has brought a level of personal satisfaction that I didn't have on tumblr, mainly because I have found a number of new on line friends and collaborators who are not as superficial as the typical tumblr type.  This is despite the fact that according to Google Analytics I now have just over 10,000 regular viewers as opposed to about 32,000 followers on tumblr at the end.  (Google tracks casual and occasional visitors differently, so there are probably more than 10,000 if we count those who just look in from time to time.)  My page view count is up to 1,250,000, and I suppose that's impressive.  The new format requires a bit more effort for you viewers to communicate with me, but what I get has been more meaningful.  Also, I routinely got trolls on tumblr, and that hasn't happened here.  Overall, I am happy with the way things have gone, and I want to thank all of you who choose to participate.

  1. Great work Jerry. I think it has worked well. An excellent mix of men, so there is something to interest us all. For me personally it is, not surprisingly, your art and art model postings. Very many thanks for this, always inspiring. David

    2. Thank you Jerry. I really enjoy analysing the art model postings. In February I'm giving a life model curated presentation and life drawing session. This will be done nude. Including how I go into modelling and my many inspirations and heroes. Many of which you have featured. I will attempt to recreate some of these as a series of poses. Still in the planning stage, so many to chose from..

    3. I wish I could see your presentation, but there's no way I can get to London in February.

    4. Thank you, I'd love to have you attend. I'll be doing it as a power point presentation. With images of my various inspirations projected behind me. So, it will be a sort of performance art piece.

  3. I didn't connect with you on Tumblr. You're doing a great job here on Blogger. Yep. 10,000 viewers per day is very impressive! I've been at it for 9 years and get about 6-7,000 per day. You're doing a great job and it shows! Thank you!
