Here we have some strapping workers from some sort of factory or brewery.
Magnificent forearms on the lot of them. Cheesemaking is clearly physical work. When this pic is blown up, the man seated at far right seems to have some large low hangers that even those thick, loose trousers can't fully hide and the man seated 2nd from left appears to be recovering from a broken nose...
I think they are cheese makers.
