Not all the great Eastern photographers were based in New York. This 1950's photo of John Opsatnik is by Frank Collier, a photographer who worked around Norfolk, Virginia for a time under the trade name Art-Dezign. He distributed his work out of a Washington, D.C. post office box. Norfolk being a huge Navy base, I have to wonder if at least some of his models were sailors.
This guy has a great rugged look. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteThe model and photographer both belong on the "underappreciated" list.
