Bob's Naked Guys Has Disappeared

One of my favorite blogs, Bob's Naked Guys, has disappeared off the Blogger platform.
Does anyone know what happened?  I have had inquiries from viewers who noticed, too.
I got this great AMG photo of Chuck Betz from Bob and will really miss him if he quit blogging.

  2. I noticed it yesterday, but thought my tablet was acting up again. Sorry to learn this.

  3. I also was extremely disappointed. His blog has disappeared before -- I believe when his initial blog ended, he started a new one called 'Bobs Naked Guys 2', and then when that one closed, he started 'Bobs Naked Guys 3.' I'm hoping he'll come out with # 4 soon.

Bob has a "sister" blog at: https://www.tumbex.com/bobsnakedguys3.tumblr/posts. This site doesn't have the same pics as #3. Be warned, clicking on an image on Tumbex usually opens additional pages to porn sites, or to ads, or to online chat sites, many with warnings about potential dangers in terms of virues, phishing, etc.

    1. I have a suspicion that those "tumbex" blogs may be pirated versions of old tumblrs, but I have no proof. One guy whom I know personally had retired from blogging when his old tumblr partially and mysteriously appeared there.

    2. Basically it's a result of Tumblr's suicide by China. So, China wouldn't allow Apple to sell to Chinese customers unless all apps were scrubbed for obscene materials, an impossible task when talking about social media, but that was 100% the point: Silence pro-democracy voices and boost Chinese knockoffs at the same time by simply giving foreigners an impossible task.

So, Apple called together all their app store clients, specifically social media, even more specifically Tumblr due to its popularity in queer communities. And Tumblr took the challenge. With AI, which is typical AI, spotty at best. And so Tumblr imploded.

Tumblr was sold off and part of the contract was its new owners couldn't undo this, in a naked attempt to save management's asses.

    3. I've heard Yahoo blamed for tumblr's fall into prudery, but I can also believe the authoritarian Chinese might have had a hand in it. The part about the Apple Store is spot on.

  4. @Jerry -- Wow, I never thought of that, but it makes sense. I think I sent a message to Bob a year or two ago about his tumbex site and the pop-ups etc, but I don't remember how or if he replied (my premature senility setting in).

You have a great crowd of followers here. Hopefully someone will discover something.

  5. I don't want to be too much of a downer here, but it seems that he could be another covid victim. While we all share a strong interest in vintage nude photos of bodybuilders, we seldom share personal information about ourselves. This forum of Jerry's is one of the few that encourages personal interaction, which makes this site so much more interesting and attractive for me. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case with BOB's site, which makes the end of Bob and his blog, due to the covid pandemic much more likely. I hope it's not true.

    1. You make a have a point worth considering, even if I join you in hoping you're wrong. And thanks for the compliment about interacting here. I plan to keep it that way.
