Alone
I'm not sure, but I think the inclusion of so much empty space in this 1951
Lynes photo of an unknown model was somehow indicative of being alone.
It's always a pleasure to go through Lynes' work to put together a series, Peter. He was a genius three or four decades ahead of his time. Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice analysis,Jerry. It's a great shot. And thanks once again for a great series! You always seem to nail it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, B.D.
DeleteI agree, this is a truly great photograph. Your analysis sounds good too, Jerry. This series has been a real delight.

DeleteWhat the above guys said, plus 1951 is a great year (I was born).
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
DeleteGorgeous and empty, not a particularly good situation. Lynes could certainly invoke feelings as well as some conversations.
