Coming attractions

 "New" Material in the Pipeline

Thanks to an actual physical donation of a sizeable archive of Physique Pictorial and Kensington Road publications by the amazingly generous Bill D. of California, I will soon be featuring some of Bob Mizer and Bruce Bellas' works that many of you may not have seen before.  I have cranked up my scanner for the first time in years to make digital versions of these.  Look for the first series in a week or so.  In the meantime, I am asking for your input as to what sort you'd like to see.  So far I have groupings with sufficient images to do cover men, motorcyclists, bad boys, ne'er-do-wells, art, and wrestling.  And I have to say that getting to know Bill better has been an added bonus.  He's quite the fine man.

  1. Well, Jerry, that is great news! Just when we were all preparing ourselves for your "semi-retirement", now (thanks to Bill D., fine man!) we have some new images to look forward to. As for possible groupings, we know that the beefy, hairy men are always popular. How about also, duos, trios, etc. (I must admit, I'm no good at being particularly imaginative, unlike your fine self!).

    1. I scanned some duos since I posted this, so that one is easy. I'll have to look for more hairy guys, but beefy is easy. Thanks!

  2. How about guys with baseball bats? (in-joke)

    1. LOL, would sledge hammers do? For some reason, the magazines Bill sent have a lot of guys with a sledge hammer.

  3. What a generous gift, made even more so with your plan to share your bounty. What kind of guys should you post? Well...how 'bout all of them! HA!

Seriously, I'm looking forward to seeing some new AMG photos. That mention of sledge hammers in the note above reeks of AMG. Bob loved giving that hammer to some of the beefier, muscular models. And since I started my blog I became a bigger fan of Kensington Road. So it's a double blessing for me -- and the rest of us.

    1. It's tempting to scan all of them, but it would take way too much time. (I'm assuming that the Bob Mizer Foundation has full scans of all these. Do you know for sure?) There is even one picture of Ron Wallace and Doug Scott with a huge snake named Diablo. This has been fun so far.

  4. Scan 'em all, the long, the short and the tall...

    1. Sorry, but I'm only doing what I think will be of interest on the blog. See my reply to James above.

  5. For someone who, before the world-wide wonder-web, had only young memories of imports on the top shelf of newsagents, I really don't mind which of your categories, Jerry, the pictures fall. I just want to see them - and wonder if any are the "faces" I remember from yesteryear. Many, many thanks to Bill D of Californ-i-a. He's a generously-spirited man.

    1. I know my obsession for categorizing everything can sometimes get out of hand, and I plan to scan one entire issue of Physique Pictorial and post it without comment. Hopefully, some of those faces you recall with turn up, either there or in the thematically selected material. And yes, Bill is more than generous.
