Grappler
The term "grappler" immediately came to mind when I first saw this Al Urban photo.
It was made at a time when theatrical pro wresting was very popular without benefit of TV.
He doesn't look oiled to me, but I could be wrong. I've been wrong before . . . lots of times. I agree that he seems like he's about to crack a smile, and I find it quite attractive.
yeah, i dont think his body was oiled. Maybe just lighting or he sweats a little. I get the pose he's gonna grapple his enemy but he smiles a little, maybe he think it's funny because there was no real wrestler in front of him, he's packing down there too
No oil? Interesting pose. He looks like he's about to smile, but maybe he likes wrestling in the raw.

ReplyDeleteMaybe he's about to smile because even back then a lot of people didn't take theatrical wrestling too seriously.
