Scythe

Our last Labor Day farmer is a photo that I carelessly saved with only
a stock number and no info, but I suspect it is another by Gustave Roud.

  1. Nice series, Jerry. As with the cowboys series' you've posted, I tend to find the real farmer / cowboy photos more appealing than the model ones. I guess authenticity adds to the overall appeal and aesthetic.

    1. Authenticity is a big plus, even when no real nudity is involved. Glad you enjoyed the series, Peter.

    2. In the words of Princess Nympho (Mel Brooks - History of the World): Very nice selection! And I have to agree with Peter 1000% about the aesthetic appeal, even tho the Reaper is not naked. Something about a beautiful guy who is unselfconconsious about his looks that attracts me.

  2. This is a great posting, Jerry. Thanks. If that male in the very last picture were smiling, he'd be a knockout. What a torso!

  3. He looks a little angry to be carrying a scythe if you ask me. I would have made myself scarce.

  4. I was not familiar with this photographer so I Googled him and a whole raft of "farmer pics" filled my screen. What a happy find! Thank you!

  5. Schoner, strenger, muskuloser Schweizer Bauer, der Beste! Intim mit einen zusammen zu sein ist fantastich. Er sieht aus, als konnte er im Bett bose sein!

    1. Roud's models just about all have that raw sex appeal, and I have to believe he planned it that way.

  6. What an intense portrait of a farm worker. Gustave Roud did some excellent fotos of Swiss farmers. My gay uncle once took a motor trip through Switzerland in the 1950s. Watching the farmworkers from his car, his thoughts were how sad it was they worked so hard and would never enjoy many of the luxuries Switzerland offered....:)
