1905

Roger de la Fresnaye did this charcoal drawing in 1905,
and there's one part of the picture that grabs everyone's attention.

  1. And it's a "non-classical" size, isn't it?

    1. Right. I'm assuming that some modern realism crept in here.

  2. Definitely not 'classical'. While the package obviously attracts the attention, I'd be drawn to this particular gentleman anyway. He's a handsome chap.

    1. I agree, Peter. I would have found him quite attractive anyway.

  3. I appreciate that these 19th and early 20th century artists portrayed a variety of men in their works, especially more mature men. It's rare to see that focus in today's youth-obsessed culture.

    1. I completely agree, Andrew, and I've even done series on art with middle aged or older models. If you click on the "Middle Age" and "Seniors" labels in the column at right on this page, more will come up. You'll have to sort through the photographs of same, but that shouldn't be too unpleasant, lol.

    2. Not an unpleasant search at all! And a nice mix of "hairy" and "small ones" included in there as well. I'm a sucker for the "small ones," lol

  4. I quite like him too. An er older and well-endowed man.
