You will be forgiven if you thought I messed up and put an AMG photo made on Mount Mizer, that fake edifice erected by Uncle Bob, in the Russ Warner section. You'll also be forgiven if you get a strong Western Photography Guild vibe. I assure y'all, however, that this is indeed by Mr. Warner, who was well known to have shot at remote and even hard to access locations around SoCal. The model here is Johnnie Holden, and I know somebody who's going to swoon over that shadow.
Is that The Shadow I see on his left thigh? Nice!
ReplyDeleteNo, that's a birthmark. Sorry, had to be silly for a moment.
DeleteActually, the whole man and the whole package are to swoon over!
ReplyDeleteInstead of saying that he put his best foot forward, because of the way he is arched backwards, I would say that he is putting his best part forward.
ReplyDeleteAnd something tells me that was by careful design.
DeleteJohnnie Holden could have given William Holden a run for the money with that bod ! Whoever that Hollywood agent was, they went for the wrong Holden.
ReplyDeleteWhere was Henry Wilson ?

LOL, who knows? They made Bill Holden shave his beautiful hairy chest for Picnic because he was playing a recent college dropout, and they thought it made him look too old.
DeleteIn the book, Picnic, the young couple are teenagers !
DeleteOur family always felt they should have used younger stars for that film.
Nick Adams and Natalie Wood would have been more like it.
