Clay Moore
In our only color shot of the day and the first of two men surnamed Moore, we have Mel Roberts'
photo of Clay Moore from 1963. The tree branches frame him rather nicely.
L'un des jeunes mannequins nus de Mel Roberts et il porte sa bague de lycee. Clay Moore doit avoir obtenu son diplome d'etudes secondaires. 1963 une annee prometteuse devenue tragique.
Mel Roberts seems to have specialized in works in colour. This must have made his publications very expensive. He was, of course, one of the photographers who fell foul of the police and law, was he not?
The color mags would sell for 3-5 dollars in the 60s. Bellas mag sold for 50 cents ! So yes, the color mags were expensive. Today that 5 dollars would be close to 50 dollars ! Mel Roberts fell afoul of the law even in 1981 and 1992 with no charges brought....:)

Gentilhomme a Paris
How do you know about high school rings? I didn't think they were well known in Europe.

He was indeed known for color work, but I haven 't researched his legal history.
DeleteI like the composition here, too. And Mr. Moore seems to be comfortable and confident. He sure does not look angry or unhappy.
ReplyDeleteYes, he manages to look pleasant without a big smile.
DeleteColor does Clay Moore so much justice. Oh, there are some branches in the background. Thank you bunches for finding this photo for me, Jerry.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Leroy!
