Low res scan
I think the low resolution scan takes a bit away from this photo,
but still, I find it interesting and attractive overall.
That would ring true. I'm pretty sure this was taken in the Auvergne, a mountainous region to the South of the Massif Central, before the rich flood plains of Provence descend to the Mediterranean. Ferrero did most of his shoots in Provence. The stone wall is there to stop vehicles careering off the road, into the valley below - which is of course what happened to Princess Grace of Monaco.
