Yes, strangely, he does look familiar. There was a family from a near-by village - beneath the spot Alfred the Great won the Battle of Edington against the Danes - who put four sons through the school. The fourth looked like him and was promptly nicknamed "Flintstone".
Bear and I climbed Alfred's Tower on a visit to Stourhead, one of the loveliest spots in England. Getting (sort of) back on topic, a lot of people find the Fred Flintstone look sexy.
I think he looks like a young Gérard Depardieu. 😀

DeleteI used to play among the rhododendrons and follies at Stourhead as a boy. There is an historical family association with the place.
DeleteWe actually went several times and managed to catch the rhododendrons in bloom once. Spectacular! We only climbed the tower the one time, though.
